VGVN Featured at SXSW’s ScreenBurn Arcade
VGVN will be at South by Southwest (SXSW) this year as part of ScreenBurn Arcade, the festival's interactive gaming arcade. In hosting ScreenBurn Arcade, SXSW — one of the nation's largest music, film, and interactive media festivals — is recognizing the growing influence of video games.
This is especially appropriate in Austin, which has become a cultural hub, with more music and film venues per capita than any other city in the United States. Not surprisingly, the video game industry has also become a vital fixture of the Austin landscape.
ScreenBurn Arcade will be free and open to the public and will feature a Video Game Voters Network booth where participants can sign up for more information on protecting free speech and learn how to join us in our fight against unnecessary legislation that limits video game creators and consumers.
As part of our mission to ensure that video games remain free from government censorship, VGVN will soon launch a voter registration drive. Voting for and supporting candidates that understand free speech, especially with regards to video games and other interactive content, is the best way to protect your rights.
If you are in Austin for SXSW — even if you are not registered for the festival — be sure to stop by the VGVN booth to learn more about our organization and what role you can play in keeping video games free from censorship.
